Wooden Block On Platform: Perhaps you too must have traveled sometime or the other by the Indian Railways, which is called the lifeline of the country. Everyone knows that we have to go to the station to catch the train. One has to go to the station and buy the ticket and then wait for the train to arrive on the platform. Often you must have seen at the station that when going to the other side of the platform, many people cross the tracks only after getting down from the platform.
Perhaps you too have done this, you must have noticed that when crossing the tracks at the station like this, a big piece of wood is placed between the track and the platform to climb over the platform. Most of the people climb the platform by keeping their feet on this piece. Have you ever wondered why this piece is placed there?
This piece is not meant for climbing the platform
Whenever people cross the tracks in this way, they get down from the ani and climb up with the help of this piece. Many people think that this piece is placed here so that people can get down and climb easily, whereas it is not so. Foot over bridges are made at the station to cross the tracks. One should always cross the platform from them.
So what is this piece for?
You must know that when the train arrives at the station, there is not much difference between the platform and the train. But, when the train passes through the track, there is vibration in the track, due to which the track turns slightly right-left. In such a situation, this piece of wood is placed so that even if the track is left or right, it does not move towards the platform. Because if this happens then the train can fight with the platform.
You will get to see this piece at the station itself, because platforms are built there. In such a situation, due to the right-left of the track, the train and the platform can be damaged. You will get to see this piece only towards the platform. Railway employees call it Gutka in common language.
